2016 Tasmanian Craft Fair

4 November 2016 - 7 November 2016

Tasmanian Craft Fair

Held annually in the picturesque township of Deloraine in northern Tasmania, an amazing array of talented artists and craftspeople exhibit and demonstrate their work as part of the Tasmanian Craft Fair.

To make your experience with the Craft Fair more enjoyable a map, program and schedule of events will be provided closer to the event.

Getting around the Fair

The Tasmanian Craft Fair is spread across 9 venues throughout the picturesque town of Deloraine. Free shuttle buses depart each venue regularly, or the venues are a short walk from each other if you?re after a healthy stroll.

Take A Break: The Australian Breastfeeding Association will again provide a relaxing haven for families at Venue 5 (Community Complex) and Venue 7 (in the Showgrounds secretary?s office).

After the Craft Fair

Enjoy a stroll around Deloraine – there are street sculptures in the main street and more along the river bank. Do the circuit walk of the river – and possibly spot a platypus in the river around dawn or dusk.

Visit Yarns and the excellent museum at the Information Centre or visit one of the cafes for coffee and cake.

For the more adventurous there are some stunning walks up into the Great Western Tiers – the Information Centre has details.

There is a wide range of things to see and do in the North and North-West of Tasmania. A half-day trip from Deloraine can take you to the Tasmanian Copper and Metal Art Gallery at Carrick; touring the wild underground caves around Mole Creek; or explore Liffey Falls and the Highland Lakes district.

Watch the native Tasmanian devils being fed at Trowunna Wildlife Park at Mole Creek, or sample the local produce at Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm, The Honey Farm and award-winning cheeses at Ashgrove Cheese Factory.

Within a day?s drive are the world-renown tourist centres of Cradle Mountain, Strahan, Stanley, the East Coast and of course the major cities of Hobart and Launceston.

Tourism Tasmania?s Discover Tasmania website has a comprehensive listing of things to see and do in the region. To visit this website, click here.
