Home away from home.
We felt our stay at Racecourse Inn was home away from home. Annabelle and Richard took care of us beyond what we expected. We felt welcomed, they were warm, friendly, and we felt as if we were like living in our own family home. Negative: Everything about this stay, accommodation, facilities were beyond expectation and there is nothing negative to
Spectacular!!! Felt like I had gone to stay at Grandma’s. Cosy, comfy & welcoming!
The rooms were far superior to any hotel we have stayed in. The staff were delightful and went above and beyond to assist us. The breakfast was also pretty AMAZING!!!
The Racecourse Inn – Certainly within the top 10 things to do in Tasmania
The total experience of staying at the Racecourse Inn, The best B and B we have ever encountered. The home, the hosts the gardens and the unique history of the Inn. And best – enjoying a daily chat with Richard and Annabelle. Truly lovely and friendly hosts. Longford also has heaps of things to do and visit. Will be back.
I loved it here!
The inn is full of character and very charming, the garden is lush and fragrant and the breakfast is delightful.
Do yourself a favour!
Five stars are difficult to achieve. However I can see how Annabelle and Richard earn these ratings. The building is a Georgian gem. The rooms are perfect. The gardens relaxing. The breakfast memorable. The hosts provide a warm welcome and unparalleled hospitality. I f your passing stop. If you’re on the island make your way there!
Old World Charm
We arrived on a warm, sunny afternoon in Spring when the garden was looking beautiful and smelled even better. There was also a plate of delicious cakes and biscuits waiting in our room. Annabelle and Richard are perfect hosts, happy to chat to you about the history of the hotel and provide you with tips on where to go in Longford and surrounds. A full cooked breakfast is served in the charming dining room.

Warm hospitality
Dear Annabelle, We wanted thank you for your warm hospitality, delicious breakfast set in such an artistic way; we could see your delight in beautiful colours, wonderful flowers, china and old silver. The ambiance of your old house is unlike anything we’ve discovered elsewhere! We were so comfortable and quite spoilt by your creative, delicious cooking and thank you again.

Amazing place to stay.
Amazing place to stay. Beautifully restored B&B and gardens. Anabelle & Richard are wonderful hosts. The cooked breakfast or continental, which ever you decide, will not disappoint. We had a one night stay and would have loved it to be longer. Thank you for the surprise Birthday breakfast muffin, with candle, to start off the husbands day. Oh! they also
The BEST out of all the places we stayed…
We stayed here on the last night of our Tassie trip and I’m glad we did because it was the BEST out of all the places we stayed including major hotel chains. The current hosts are very amiable and most thoughtful towards a comfortable stay and the building itself is a dream! The dining room was amazing and breakfast was
We couldn’t recommend the place enough. We can’t wait to go back.
Recently my partner and I, from the U.K stayed at the Racecourse Inn, Longford, Tasmania for two weeks. We were on a fly fishing holiday on and around The Great Lakes. This wonderful B&B was a home away from home. Annabel and her partner Richard, not forgetting the delightful cat, Delphine, were the very best of hosts. Warm, welcoming and
Top of our list for next visit
Found this delightful b n b at last minute. This place is heavenly. A lot of love and artistic flair has gone in to this charming, old world accommodation. Loved talking to the host and appreciated the guided tour of the gardens. Spacious guest areas and every little thing you could want was there. Breakfast was special. Top of our
Beautiful accommodation and warm welcome
We spent 3 nights in this delightful B & B – 29/3/18 – 1/4/18. After 3 weeks travelling around Tasmania this was, without a doubt, the best place we stayed. The historic inn is beautifully and comfortably decorated with many extra thoughtful touches – hot water bottles, fresh flowers in the rooms, on the breakfast table and everywhere, Easter eggs
A delightful step back in time
It sounds trite to say “everything”, but that is just how it was. A beautiful old building that has been restored so that it showcases its history in a comfortable way. Running one’s hand down the bannisters one can really feel the presence of all those people who have done the same thing in the past. Faewyn on Booking.com –
Hospitality Plus
Wonderful stay in a wonderful B&B. Worth every cent. Most hospitable hosts, friendly, helpful, informative, welcoming , faultless. Great service. Only place to stay in the town of Longford. Great breakfasts, with great local produce and providence. Will be back there again. A reason why Tasmania is such a great destination. Good proximity to Launceston and north east and the
