2022 Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival
After cancelling the Festival in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID, the Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival is back in 2022 with two back to back festivals.
Festival 1 Wednesday 19 – Friday 21 October
Festival 2 Friday 21 – Sunday 23 October
We are thrilled to be back on, in the splendour of the northern Tasmanian spring, won’t you join us?
Festival packages are $750 and include six concerts, post- concert reception on the opening night and lunches on the following two days.
Single tickets will be available to some of the performances closer to Festival time.
The first concert begins in the beautiful Georgian village of Evandale where we welcome Australia’s internationally renowned Goldner String Quartet playing Schumann. They will be joined by pianist, Piers Lane in the mighty Brahms Piano Quintet.
One of the highlights of each Festival is the opportunity to discover a new part of Northern Tasmania. This year it is the Meander Valley and the beautiful Village of Westbury. Westbury’s three churches will feature performances by percussionist, Claire Edwardes, harpist Genevieve Lang and a fabulous homage to Sculthorpe by the Goldner String Quartet. We will enjoy lunch on the Village Green.
The evening of day 2, we move to the atmospheric Christ Church, Longford for a performance of Schubert Lieder by baritone, David Greco and pianist, Erin Helyard. Die Schone Mullerin will be performed in Festival 1 and Winterreise in Festival 2.
Sunday morning we are back in Westbury for a piano recital by Piers Lane featuring works by Grieg and Liszt including the great B minor sonata.
This will be followed by a sit-down lunch with Piers Lane at the beautiful house and gardens of Culzean.
